What it is
lore-skool helps you speak your kid's language. Their shows, their characters, their worlds — the stuff they care about most and you understand least. A guided quiz, a bit of ceremony, and suddenly you're having the conversation you couldn't start last week.
It's a connection tool. It's play with a purpose. That's the whole thing.
What it isn't
It isn't therapy. lore-skool doesn't diagnose, assess, screen, or treat anything — not your child, not you, not your relationship. The read is made to start conversations, not to deliver clinical truths. If any line of it ever lands like a verdict on your child, it's wrong to read it that way — treat it as an opening line, and trust your own knowledge of your kid over anything an app says. Always.
It isn't surveillance. lore-skool doesn't watch your child, monitor their screens, scan their messages, or build a profile of them. It only knows what your family chooses to tell it, sitting together. Your child takes part with you, by choice — the whole design falls apart without them in the room, and that's deliberate. If you're looking for a tool to secretly check on your kid, this isn't it, and we'd gently ask you to think about what you're actually looking for.
It isn't a data business. Your child's name never leaves your device — it's replaced with a token before anything is sent anywhere. The answers live on your device, in a record you control and can delete in one motion. We keep no profile, sell nothing to anyone, and never will. It isn't crisis support. If you're worried about your child's safety, mental health, or wellbeing — genuinely worried, gut-level worried — lore-skool is the wrong place, and no app is the right place. Talk to your family doctor, your child's school, or your local crisis services. That's not small print; it's the most important sentence on this page.

Parts of lore-skool are generated by AI, working from the answers your family gives. We craft and constrain it carefully, and it's often startlingly good — but AI can be wrong, sometimes confidently wrong, sometimes about the things that matter. So here's the deal we make with every parent:
Everything lore-skool tells you is a conversation starter, not a conclusion. You are the expert on your child. The app is the icebreaker. Never the other way round.
About your kid's part in this
Kids aren't users to us — they're the experts being consulted. Your child participates with you, on your device, and they get their moment: quizzing you, seeing how you did, being the authority on their own world. Nothing about lore-skool talks to your child behind your back, markets to them, or nudges them to keep tapping. There are no streaks, no dopamine loops, no dark patterns. When the moment's over, the app is done — and that's the point.
